Nashville rode a decent outing from starter Kelly Thompson to victory over the Asheville Boomsticks. The final score was 4-3. Brody McDermott got the save, the 12th for him this season. Nashville's record now stands at 17-18, placing them 7th in the To The Wall Baseball Nationalist League.

Nashville used a well-timed hit by Howard Perkins to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nightmare ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Kelly -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Nightmare manager Matt Tomczak. "He was the key to us winning."
