Grand Rapids wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Brandon French, falling to the Wildwood Fishers, 6-3. French threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Michael Blanchard notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Ronald Dempsey got credit for the save for Wildwood. It was his 6th of the year.

Wildwood took a 6-3 lead on Shinkichi Sakuma's 3rd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Sakuma hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Grand Rapids pitcher Tristan Rodríguez visibly frustrated.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Sakuma. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."

The Growlers fall to 12-15 and continue their uneven start to the 2069 season.
