B.C. pitcher Xiao-yong Lum had a large part in his team subduing the Wicker Park Devil Cats, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Reliever Pete Reynolds picked up the win. His record improves to 1-4. Jason James took the loss. With the win, B.C. climbs to 10-14.

B.C. got a game-changing hit from Bobby Williams. The pinch hitter blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" B.C. manager Stephen West said.
