Newcastle and Columbus duked it out and the House of Brews came out victorious.

Newcastle House of Brews starter Nick Robertson pitched his team past the Columbus Red Birds, 5-2. Kyle Farnsworth earned the save for Newcastle.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Richard Harper didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Columbus trailing 4-2, Harper retired Gary Sheffield to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Harper, with a wink.

The Red Birds, at 7-15, have stumbled out of the gate.
