Boomsticks Absorb 2-0 Home Loss
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Ypsi Yard Cats and the Asheville Boomsticks, pitcher Aaron Clay was the difference between victory and defeat. The Ypsi right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-0 Yard Cats win. Clay, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Aydan Farmer nailed down his 3rd save.
Ypsi needed the clutch hitting of Joel Milman to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Yard Cats on top, 1-0. For the game, Milman had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Clay.
Ypsi has a record of 7-11.
