Mud Hens Rally Late to Clip Ludington
|
Great Black Swamp Mud Hens starter Fernando Valenzuela pitched well against the Ludington LumberJacks at Husqvarna Field, leading his team to a win, 2-1. The win went to Dorian Sears in relief, making him now 1-1. Andy Durán took the loss for Ludington. Enrique Figueroa picked up the save for Great Black Swamp, his 3rd of the year.
Jerry Myers came through with a big-time hit for Great Black Swamp. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Sam Genson.
The Mud Hens, with just their 4th win so far in 2069, have yet to catch fire.
