Newcastle beat Letterkenny at Letterkenny Memorial Ballpark, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Pat Gimínez. He threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The Shamrocks, 4-8, continue their poor start to the 2069 campaign.

Kelly Sullivan came through with a big-time hit for Newcastle. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"There is no easy way to lose when you're doing everything you can to win games," said Letterkenny manager Matt Philpott.
