Dunn Now 1-0 After Beating Boomsticks
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Flaming Ashes Ballpark.
The Reykjavik Phoenix picked up a win at Flaming Ashes Ballpark, taking down the Asheville Boomsticks, 4-0. Starting pitcher Emery Dunn was a big reason why. Asheville, with the loss, is still a hardy 8-3.
Dunn was the winner. He's now 1-0, after putting the Asheville offense in a vise grip. Over 8 innings, he gave up no runs on 2 hits, while racking up 7 Ks.
"Emery was able to execute his pitches," said Reykjavik manager Arthur Ecklund. "Simple as that."
