B.C. got a big-time effort from pitcher Johan Santana, but it wasn't enough to keep the Phoenix Downs from winning the game, 3-2. Santana threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Arthur Brown, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. B.C. now is 5-6.

Kunimatsu Kan was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Downs center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
