Hitmakers Win Nail-Biter
The Motown Hitmakers did just enough to secure a victory over the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens, 4-3, in 16 innings at Moses Fleetwood Walker Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Sergio Cuevas. Doug Plunkett snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Claudio Escobar suffered the loss. Getting the save was Jesús Martínez, his 1st.

Motown used a well-timed hit by José Ledesma to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hitmakers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ledesma.

The Hitmakers, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2070.
