Boomsticks Rally For 4-2 Win
The Asheville Boomsticks defeated the Reykjavik Phoenix, 4-2. First Baseman Nelson Cruz deserved a large share of the credit. Cruz was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Boomsticks. Asheville reliever Arturo Amador was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Vincent Kelly took the loss. Asheville, now 7-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Cruz had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Vincent Kelly, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Boomsticks a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cruz.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Asheville manager Jon Papp.
