Indians Win at Home, 7-3
|
Indianapolis picked up a win at Victory Field, bumping off the Wildwood Fishers, 7-3. Pitcher Román Moreno was a major reason the Indians emerged victorious. Moreno got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The win puts Indianapolis at 2-4.
Manuel Fernández had a big grand slam home run for the Indians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Indianapolis leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Félix Soto, who finished 2nd in the TTWB in wins with 18 in 2063, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Indians on top, 7-0.
Fernández attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
