Devil Cats Earn 7-1 Win Versus Motown
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Wicker Park Devil Cats and Motown Hitmakers.

The Wicker Park Devil Cats defeated the Motown Hitmakers, 7-1, at The Upper Deck. Wicker Park was led by 25-year old right fielder Eric Collins, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Anthony McElroy. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 3. Getting the save was Tim Cannon, his 1st.

Wicker Park used the timely hitting of Carlton Wilson to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Devil Cats on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Collins.

The win takes Wicker Park to 1-4.
