Candelario Pounds 3 HR Against Athletics Friday, July 30th , 2027 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Jeimer Candelario can celebrate. The Seattle Mariners first baseman powered three into the stands at T-Mobile Park against the Las Vegas Athletics. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Candelario told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Mariners toppled Las Vegas by a score of 15-3, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Seattle manager Scott Hemond said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Jeimer Candelario hit a two-run home run off Ryan Lobus in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Joey Estes in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Kade Morris in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. For the year, Candelario is hitting .250 with 26 home runs. His stats include 88 runs batted in and 63 runs scored. |
