Norby Hits 2 home runs in Marlins Win
|
The Miami Marlins used the hitting of second baseman Connor Norby to subdue the New York Mets, 5-2. For the game, Norby went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The winner was Dax Fulton, who threw 91 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. Josh White earned his 8th save in 13 tries.
Victor Caratini drove in one run for Miami. The 34-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Brandon Sproat. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
In postgame comments to the Miami Times, Caratini said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Miami is now 59-70, New York 64-66.
