Comerica Park was the site for American League action featuring the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins.

Minnesota designated hitter Matt Wallner contributed significantly to his team's 11-5 win over the Detroit Tigers. Wallner went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Twins. Zebby Matthews earned the win. Casey Mize, who is tied for 2nd in the AL with a 3.22 ERA, took the loss for Detroit.

The Twins got a big hit from shortstop Carlos Correa. Facing Detroit pitcher Raimon Gomez in the top of the sixth, Correa pounded a grand slam home run to left-center. His 20th home run of the season put the Twins ahead, 10-1.

"This was one of those games you love to be a part of," said Wallner.

Minnesota is now 59-58. Detroit is 62-55.
