Mitchell Super -- No-Hits Lafayette
Friday, March 7th , 2121
In a dominant outing, Ron Mitchell of the Phoenix Mavericks totally silenced the bats of the Lafayette Aviators, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 4-0 victory, Mitchell faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 9 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Phoenix manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Mavericks had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Mitchell pitched a heck of a ballgame."
