SML #1 Pitcher in July is Atlanta's Fowler Saturday, August 1st , 2116 When Atlanta reliever Alex Fowler strolled in from the bullpen in July, it did not bode well for the opposing team. He usually put a quick end to any budding rally. For his excellent mound work he was named the Scotty Maine League Pitcher of the Month. The Blue Jays reliever had no saves for the month with a 5-0 record and 1.89 ERA. He made 3 relief appearances, hurled 33.1 innings, yielded 20 hits, fanned 30 and walked 4. This season Fowler has been credited with 2 saves in 15 relief appearances. In 96.1 innings he has a 8-1 won-lost mark, 2.43 ERA and 85 strikeouts |
