Pirates 1 Advance to Round 3 Thursday, September 10th , 2037 The Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 1 bandwagon is filling up fast, as the team has moved one step closer to winning a Round 3 championship. Pittsburgh (DSL) downed the Baltimore (DSL) Orioles 1 1-0 tonight at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex, to take the Round 2 4-2. "It seems much more real now and we're really starting to realize we've got a great shot at this thing," said Devon Spurlock, who was named series MVP. "When we play our best we're as good as anybody in the Dominican Rookie League." For the series, Spurlock had 8 hits for .348, with a .375 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 1 will play against the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 2 in the next round. Chicago N (DSL) won their series against the San Diego (DSL) Padres 1 4 games to 0. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
