Phillies White Move on to Round 2 Monday, August 29th , 2039 The Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies White took time to celebrate with the Philadelphia (DSL) fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 1 triumph over the Oakland (DSL) Athletics. Members of the Phillies White hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Philadelphia (DSL) fans in attendance at Juan Marichal Complex, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 4-3 win to seal the series 4-2. "We've got great fan support," said right fielder B.J. Grubbs. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Oakland (DSL) fans that were there even congratulated us on the win." For the series, Grubbs hit .400 with a .464 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. Things weren't so cordial on the Athletics side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season. The Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies White will play against the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates 1 in the next round. Pittsburgh (DSL) won their series against the Texas (DSL) Rangers 1 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
