Inland Empire Wins Round 1 Wednesday, September 24th , 2036 Ivan Arroyo wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Round 1 MVP. The star's Inland Empire 66ers defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the Round 2. Inland Empire won the final game by a 5-0 count in front of a raucous crowd at San Manuel Stadium. Arroyo hit .522 with a .542 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 1 home runs, driving in 3 RBI and scoring 3 runs. "Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Arroyo. The Inland Empire 66ers will play against the Fresno Grizzlies in the next round. Fresno won their series against the Stockton Ports 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
