Kieser Smacks 5 Hits for 66ers Monday, July 5th , 2038 After a 5-hit effort to lead Inland Empire's 17-1 victory over the Visalia Rawhide, second baseman Al Kieser told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Low-A West-level is really something special." The 22-year-old player earned his accolades at Recreation Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Rawhide. "His swing is getting there," said 66ers skipper , who spoke glowingly of Kieser after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Al did that to perfection." Al Kieser singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a sac fly in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this year, Kieser has hit .292 with 1 home run, 25 RBIs and 18 runs scored. |
