San Francisco-San Diego Brawl, Mendoza and Padilla Suspended Wednesday, April 20th , 2039 After an intense confrontation, both the Giants Lupe Mendoza and the Padres Jose Padilla were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent San Francisco-San Diego game. Lupe Mendoza will miss 5 games, while Jose Padilla was suspended for 3 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Lupe Mendoza commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." So far this season, Mendoza is batting .194 with no home runs, 1 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
