Rays, Cubs Close Deal Wednesday, November 26th , 2036 Reports have surfaced that Tampa Bay has agreed to send 32-year old RHP Gil Buenaventura and 26-year old SS Jochen Huisman to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for 22-year old minor league RHP Joe Spoden and 22-year old minor league RHP Juan Robles. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. So far in his career, Buenaventura has registered 37 saves and fashioned a 20-16 won-lost mark. In 233 games he has fanned 284 batters in 338 innings and logged a 3.28 ERA. |
