Rick Torrez knocked in 4 runs to help Minnesota beat Houston, 7-4. The center fielder collected 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. Minnesota pitcher Josh Lind earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Irving Carter suffered the loss. Brady House was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
Torrez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Irving Carter, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Twins a 7-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Torrez.
Said Houston manager Houston Manager: "They just got the better of us."
The Twins raised their record to 13-14.
