Giants Send New York Home with 8-3 Loss
|
San Francisco right-hander Zach Nelson pitched his team to victory over the New York Mets at Oracle Park. The final score was 8-3. The win gives San Francisco a record of 18-8.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Sean Weber was at the plate when San Francisco scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Giants to go in front, 4-3.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said San Francisco skipper Bob Cermak.
