Chicago Cubs starter Gabe Hoffman pitched well against the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field, leading his team to a win, 6-4. In 7 innings, Hoffman surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Jarod Glass earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Jochen Huisman was a prime contributor to the Chicago win. He was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth with two out, the 27-year old shortstop hit a 2-run single. It made the score 6-1, in favor of the Cubs.
"The team always comes first," Hoffman told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
The win gives Chicago a record of 13-13.
