Giants Beat Braves, 3-1
|
Pitcher Danny Bryan was rock solid in helping the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves, 3-1. Bryan picked up the win for San Francisco, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Nate Plowman picked up his 1st save of the season.
The Giants got a big at-bat from center fielder Sherman Ortiz. For the game, Ortiz went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave San Francisco a 3-1 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" San Francisco manager Bob Cermak said.
Despite the loss, Atlanta is still 17-5.
