Braves Rally Late to Nip Giants
|
The San Francisco Giants got a superb performance from pitcher Zach Nelson, but the Atlanta Braves still won the game, 6-5. Nelson threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Yok-sing Law closed the door for Atlanta, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Atlanta is now 5-2.
Atlanta used the clutch hitting of Tony Miranda to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Braves ahead, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Miranda told the Atlanta Herald. "It's as simple as that."
