Red Sox Deal Rays 6-3 Loss
The Tampa Bay Rays inaugurated the 2037 campaign with a disappointing 6-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field. Boston right fielder Tony Epps had a big impact on the outcome. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and a double. The winning pitcher was Farri Mpasa. He tossed 91 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits.

Greg Fee had a big 2-run home run for the Red Sox in the top of the first inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a forkball from Andy Farrar, who finished 2nd in the AL in wins with 19 in 2032, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Red Sox on top, 3-0.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Epps told the Boston Bulletin.
