Mets Sink Braves, 4-0
|
The New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves, 4-0, at Citi Field. Starting pitcher Joey Cantillo was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. New York is now riding a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the fifth, Jose Pacheco delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 1st, the New York designated hitter hit a 2-run home run, putting the Mets in front, 4-0.
In postgame comments to the New York Bulletin, Cantillo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
