Cincinnati Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Moritz was the difference-maker. The Chicago right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Today's win puts Chicago at 75-87, while Cincinnati falls to 83-79.
Chicago first baseman Tony Moreno contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 134th hit of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 1-0.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Moritz after the game.
