Philadelphia Goes Hitless Against Farrar
|
Andy Farrar of the Tampa Bay Rays was the King of the Hill at Tropicana Field.
The Tampa Bay starter dominated the Philadelphia Phillies, giving up zero hits in his 6-2 victory.
"The toughest part was the last couple of innings," Farrar recounted after the game. "You know you have a no-hitter going, and so does everybody in the ballpark. That was the hard part, keeping focused and concentrating while your heart is pounding."
Farrar, who finished 3rd in the AL in ERA with 3.28 in 2032, recorded no strikeouts and no walks in the game.
Thus far this season, Farrar has posted a 11-8 record, started 32 games, struck out 180 batters in 181.2 innings and compiled a 3.32 ERA.
