Red Sox Shut Out Yankees, 1-0
|
Boston Red Sox starter Ethan Roach pitched a good game to help his team take down the New York Yankees, 1-0. Roach yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 12-7. Ismael Cabrera got the save, his 14th in 16 chances.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from catcher Tony Guerrero. For the game, Guerrero went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 25th double of the season gave Boston a 1-0 lead.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Guerrero said.
