Monroe Stars as Astros Top Yankees, 16-6
Astros first baseman Kevin Monroe left his mark on his team's 16-6 win over the New York Yankees. Monroe, who finished 5th in the AL in RBI with 132 in 2032, belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Houston in the contest. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Phil Hunt. He tossed 89 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. This win makes it 6 in a row for Houston.

Jose Mejia had a big 2-run double for the Astros in the top of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Mineo and swatted a double to right. It was his 30th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Astros ahead, 5-2.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said New York manager Logan Crenshaw.
