Astros Post 5-1 Win Over New York
|
New York wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ruben Bizarro, falling to the Houston Astros, 5-1. Bizarro threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Josh Albright. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Tony Villegas picked up the save for Houston, his 8th of the year.
Mario Ramos was 1-4 with a double for Houston. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ruben Bizarro. It was his 47th RBI of the season.
Houston manager Houston Manager said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Houston.
