Orioles Use Late Score to Top Rangers, 7-6
|
It was pandemonium at Oriole Park at Camden Yards after an exciting walk-off win.
The Baltimore Orioles knocked off the Texas Rangers, 7-6, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Mike Echols was a big reason Baltimore won. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The Orioles, at 96-54, lead by one game in their division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Tony Sierra in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Simington to win the game for Baltimore. The home crowd went nuts.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Sierra said.
