Jones, Orioles March to 9-4 Victory
|
Billy Jones led Baltimore to a triumph over Portland. The final score was 9-4. The shortstop went 4 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 3 runs and added 2 RBI. Jonathan Loaisiga, who finished 2nd in the AL in saves with 36 in 2023, was the winner. He's now 12-7. The loser was Edwin Borja. The Loggers, at 76-73, have lost 4 straight games.
Mike Echols had a timely hit in the top of the sixth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, the Baltimore left fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Orioles in front, 5-3.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Baltimore manager Orioles Manager.
