Rockies Get One-Run Win at Cincinnati
|
Colorado starter Bryce McGowan pitched well against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. McGowan, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 3 walks. Josh Ellis converted his 20th save in 25 tries.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from third baseman Joe Berry. For the game, Berry hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Colorado a 2-0 lead.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Berry.
Colorado is now 64-84, while Cincinnati is 73-75.
