The Houston Astros topped the Texas Rangers, 7-1, with second baseman Edwin Saucedo playing a big role. Saucedo went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Astros in the win. Phil Hunt, the winner, improved to 5-3. David Humphries, who finished 2nd in the AL in on-base percentage with .379 in 2034, helped out the Houston cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3 with a double and was hit by a pitch.
