The New York Mets rode a solid performance from 36-year-old starting pitcher Chad Evans to a win, beating the Atlanta Braves, 5-2, at Truist Park. The third-place Mets hiked their record to 78-68.

Jared Morre hit a run-scoring triple off Kevin Kendrick in the top of the first, which put the Mets in front, 1-0. In addition to the triple, Morre had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"Chad set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said New York manager Mets Manager.
