The Texas Rangers spoiled a good performance by Houston left fielder Jermaine Landy, bumping off Houston, 9-2, at Minute Maid Park. Landy was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a triple. Greg Boyle picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 13-7. The second-place Rangers have won 4 straight games.

Texas designated hitter Danny Duncan contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
