White Sox Get Hard-Earned Win
|
White Sox right fielder Branden Buchhop left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Buchhop, who finished 5th in the AL in extra base hits with 82 in 2035, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs for Chicago in the contest. The winner was Bobby Hellerman in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Steven Doiron took the loss. Chicago now sports a record of 66-76.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Buchhop hit a fastball from Steven Doiron for a solo home run. The White Sox, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Chicago manager White Sox Manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
