Mariners Clip Giants, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Seattle Mariners and the San Francisco Giants, pitcher Caleb McMinn was the difference between victory and defeat. The Seattle left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Mariners win. Picking up the save was Al Mesbah, his 15th. The second-place Mariners now sit at 80-59.
Doug Sideris, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2035 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sideris contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 3-2.
"Every loss stings," said San Francisco manager Giants GM. "This one is no exception."
