Cubs Rally to Win, 6-5
|
It took 10 innings, but the Chicago Cubs were able to beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5, at Wrigley Field. Tim Morger provided some offensive muscle for Chicago. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Chicago reliever Jarod Glass was the winner. His record is now 4-12. Ruben Peterson took the loss. Philadelphia's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Morger hit a fastball from Ruben Peterson for a run-scoring single. The Cubs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Morger said, postgame.
