Dodgers Turn Back Minnesota, 2-0
|
Hurler Jim Goodell gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a solid start. The native of Venice, Florida helped his team defeat the Minnesota Twins, 2-0, at Dodger Stadium. Ed Lopez recorded his 27th save for Los Angeles. Minnesota has now lost 5 straight.
The Dodgers got a big at-bat from first baseman Bobby Essick. For the game, Essick was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"Jim commanded the zone from bottom to top," said Los Angeles manager Cody Wells.
