5-1 Loss Deepens New York Funk
|
The timely hitting of Ernie Emmerich helped the Nashville Stars down the New York Yankees, 5-1. Emmerich slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Stars. The slumping Yankees have lost 8 straight.
With Nashville leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Emmerich hit a fastball from Josh Eagan for a 2-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 3-0.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Logan Crenshaw. "But it's got to translate into wins."
