Loss to Guardians Extends New York Losing Streak
|
Getting an impressive start from Nate Porter, Cleveland beat New York by the score of 8-0. Porter yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 10-8. The current losing streak for New York has reached 7 games.
Bob Corn had a big 3-run home run for the Guardians in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Cleveland leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Ruben Bizarro and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 32nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guardians ahead, 5-0.
"Things went our way," said Corn.
