Cardinals Lose to Giants, 3-0
|
The San Francisco Giants downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-0, at Oracle Park. Stellar pitching by Ricky Hutton had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the NL in wins with 10, handcuffed his opponent all game. The victory gives the Giants a record of 61-58.
The Giants had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 2-0, San Francisco, with no one out. St. Louis, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Andy Cleveland dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 changeup, he popped out.
