Mariners Take Nail-Biter Over Padres
|
The Mariners earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 11 innings at T-Mobile Park. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from San Diego pitcher Jordan Zamora. Zamora went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Seattle occupies 5th place in the American League West Division at 53-61.
The Mariners got a clutch hit from center fielder Willie Santana. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mariners.
"That was fun, that was just good baseball," said Santana.
